We moved in on Twister a couple weeks ago and hunted him in the morning. After the hunt we checked our camera only to find out he had came through the previous two evenings in shooting light. Hoping he would continue on this same pattern we decided to get back into our ground blind that evening. We had not been in the blind for five minutes and guess who shows up. Luckily we were somewhat ready and was able to get enough footage for a shot. To make a long story short, Twister jumped the string about 4 inches and my shot was about 3 inches right. The combination of the two ended up being a non-fatal shot. Of course I did not know this at the time and looked for two days without finding him. Devasted with the outcome I decided to leave my camera out for a couple more weeks. Ten days after his brush with death I was able to get a few photos of him and he appears to be doing alright. If you look closely in the picture you can see the arrow hole that is healing over in his front right shoulder. The shot was a complete pass through on the ground. Boy was I glad to see he is still alive. Hopefully our paths will cross again someday.
