Wow, what a suprise! I went out tonight and decided to hunt over my foodplot since i have been seeing several shooter bucks feeding in it in the evenings. Just like always, deer started filtering into the field one by one. At sunset, there were over 20 deer feeding in the footplot, but no mature bucks.
Right at dark i looked to my left to see two bucks sparing. I pull up my optics and see nothing but huge antlers. I then look closer and realize what buck i was looking at. I couldnt believe it. There stood a huge 7X5 whitetail that we had seen several times before this year, but TWO MILES away. I couldnt believe he showed up on this farm!
After sparing with the smaller buck he turned and headed my way. Unfotunately light had begin to fade and we were out of camera light. He came in broadside at 15 yards as I drew back and settled in. I then reluctantly decided to let him walk. I hope to god i made the right decision and end up gettin another oportunity at this beauty of an animal!
Wish me luck!

I just found my reason NOT to film my hunts,HA HA!! I don’t think I could have let that buck walk. In fact I know I couldn’t. Micheal, I sure hope you do see him again, with good filming light left.
Well, after passing him up on Tuesday I could only hope to get another oportunity at this awesome whitetail. I couldn’t believe my eyes when he showed up on Wednesday coming out of a thicket following a doe. He skirted our set up and, unfortunately, fed in the foodplot about 100 yards away till it got dark. Yet another close call!
Went out last night again, moved our setup a little but only saw does and small bucks. Were going to give it a rest today and get in there tomorrow when the weather turns fridgid again!
