Clayton and I have been at it for a while now and just haven’t had any luck. We have had several young bucks come into the decoy and investigate. We have even had up to 7 does come by us together at once without a single buck trailing! I had a buck come in on us the other morning that almost got an arrow in him. He had a good left side and then his right side was just a main beam with no tines on it!! He had a big body on him and could have been 4 year old. Oh well, hopefully we get a crack at one soon. We are taking a break for the next few days because of work and MO firearms opener with the family this weekend. Gotta love deer camp with the fam! Next week looks promising as the weather is supposed to actually feel like November! We have had a good time so far and been eating well thanks to Amy’s (Clayton’s wife) awesome home cookin! Here are some pics of our adventure to fill tags so far…
Good luck to everyone hitting the woods!

P.S. Tomorrow is the 1 year anniversary of the encounter we had with the big wide 10 pt that never gave me a shot in episode 8. A day that will haunt me for a long time. I call him “180” and Clayton calls him “Wideload” I just hope we see him again!
Good luck to you guys. Next week is looking good like you stated. Going to sit all this weekend. Hopefully things will pick up a little more here in the south central part of the state.
The buck from last season was a monster! Any sign of him since? Maybe he just comes out on this day, once a year! Good luck
No sign of him since. Hopefully he follows a doe in there while we are in the stand!
Two new huge rubs on the same little hill that wideload left last year. Could it be him? I guess we will have to find out next week as we will be hitting it hard when the cool weather gets here.
