As you can see Larry and I have been a little preoccupied taking family and friends out this season. It seemed as thought evertime we went out with other people we would have an awsome hunt, but when either of us were behind the trigger things were not going so well. Larry finally changed our luck yesterday and sealed the deal on a nice tom we had been after. He flew down and quickly joined some hens, but could not resist the decoy when one of his hens left him for our strutter. Larry put a great shot on him and we watched him go down on camera.

We went out again this morning and had a big tom at 200 yards over this rise and could not see our decoy. He was was hitting everything we threw at him, but would not leave his lovely ladies. Just as I thought he might work our way we were greeted with thunder, lightening, and torrential rain…maybe I am the one with the black cloud. We did manage to set up another blind for next time. I will get some payback!
