Ty and I crossed the border and went back over to Kansas to try our luck. The sun came up and we were both surprised that we did not here one gobble. We sat there until about 8:30 and Ty had to stretch his legs.As Ty began to stretch he quickly lowered hisself
back down and said Strutters in the next field over. I began a call sequence and raised the fan on the decoy. It was all over from there. The birds were coming an coming quickly. The dominant
bird went straight to the decoy and I got drawn and let one fly not even rough up his feathers. The bird was not nervous and came back to challenge the decoy. This time the arrow hit it’s mark and the bird went about 30 yds and went to floppin. I look the direction those birds came from and see three more toms rushing in. The strutter challenged the decoy and i let him have as well.
Hopefully that was the end of the Kansas curse.
